Sweet Red and White
What a great example of taking a commercial pattern and giving yourself to it. Luscious reds and white combine with cotton, silk, velvet and wool - pieced to perfection!
Sweet!
You Make My Heart Go Pitty Pat by Eileen Thurston, Hyde Park, MA
(The pattern from "Vivacious Curvy Quilts" by Dianne S. Hire.)
You don't need a commercial pattern to do this kind of thing - working totally template free is very liberating - aka 'improvisational piecing', contact me if you want basic 'how to' instructions emailed - they're free.
Hi Alison! Yes, I know that but I'm identifying here how this one was made. Eileen used a pattern from "Vivacious Curvy Quilts" by Maxine Rosenthal. As for myself, I've never used a pattern in my life! But maybe some of my blog readers will want to contact you at alison.schwabe@gmail.com
This quilt looks awesome! Such pretty colors! Love it!
