Although I'm not much of a seamstress, I'm forcing myself to learn and I must say, I am so glad I persevered through this one! I don't know about anyone else's experience with free patterns but this one was no exeption for me - missing lots of information in the instructions, but I got the better of it after much stitchin-n-bitchin!
Here's the final product!

Wow! That is a lovely bag!
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
Thanks Hema! I felt a good chunk of job satisfaction on this one!
DeleteYou are doing some lovely things these days Janis. Not much of a seamstress you say. You have GOT to be kidding.
ReplyDeleteLOL! No kidding! Just figuring out what to do next was a huge barrier for me. Ripping out what I did wrong is a given for me...over an over! I'm starting to get it though!
ReplyDeleteYou seem to have worked that all out very well..and made a dashing bag in the process. Enjoy the "carrying and filling" of it :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm setting it aside for my grandaughter's birthday and am now making myself one!
ReplyDeleteLove the bag, it looks very functional. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThanks Terry! I appreciate the feedback!
ReplyDeleteGreat bag, well done, Janis. Would you share where we might also find this pattern?
ReplyDeleteThanks Bonnie! Sure, I should have done so when I posted it! The basic pattern is is here:

but as you can see, I changed it some. I started out making this pattern but then I needed more fabric. Meanwhile I thought of using denim so I worked this one up as soon as the fabric came in. I'm almost finished with the first one now that actually adheres to this pattern. I'll post when I'm done.
