I coaxed my old Singer back into service! Where there's a will there's a way!

Although I'm not much of a seamstress, I'm forcing myself to learn and I must say, I am so glad I persevered through this one! I don't know about anyone else's experience with free patterns but this one was no exeption for me - missing lots of information in the instructions, but I got the better of it after much stitchin-n-bitchin!

Here's the final product!

  2. You are doing some lovely things these days Janis. Not much of a seamstress you say. You have GOT to be kidding.

  3. LOL! No kidding! Just figuring out what to do next was a huge barrier for me. Ripping out what I did wrong is a given for me...over an over! I'm starting to get it though!

  4. You seem to have worked that all out very well..and made a dashing bag in the process. Enjoy the "carrying and filling" of it :-)

  7. Great bag, well done, Janis. Would you share where we might also find this pattern?

  8. Thanks Bonnie! Sure, I should have done so when I posted it! The basic pattern is is here:

but as you can see, I changed it some. I started out making this pattern but then I needed more fabric. Meanwhile I thought of using denim so I worked this one up as soon as the fabric came in. I'm almost finished with the first one now that actually adheres to this pattern. I'll post when I'm done.
